First of all, I’d like to say a huge heartfelt thank you to all our amazing customers. Without your community support, and small business love we would have faced many tough decisions. With new Government announcements, it felt important that I address these, and provide an update on where we stand as a business. My number one priority is keeping our community safe and as the business owner, I have a responsibility to protect the livelihoods of you our customers and my team.
Despite new government announcements, we will NOT be trading regional markets or opening our physical store at Hatch just yet. Government guidance is unclear, and in the interest of public and staff safety, for now, we are an online-only business.
As a retailer it doesn’t matter how we did things in the past, we have to do things differently now. You will never shop the same, and we can never operate the same. We are adapting to the needs of our customers, whilst maintaining a wonderful brand, and service. Small, independent businesses have played a good hand during the Covid19 crisis, and I am extremely proud of our efforts and the incredible support from team NM – our branding is in our culture and our team.
We have set out a new journey, a new path, and a new way of working. We’ve hugely accelerated change and adapted the business for this new retail era. Retail is now less experience and more transactional, but digitalisation doesn’t mean we should remove human contact. Here at Nordic Muse we’ve been embracing it. Conversation is key, and we will continue this through live chat, videos, and technology that serves a real purpose. Post-lock-down retail is a whole new ball game, a new world, and the way retailers sell has to be redesigned. Celebrated as one of the leading independents adapting and evolving, I am very excited about the future of Nordic Muse.
