There is no gift more valuable than time. So why don’t you surprise your Mum with some wholesome rituals this Mother’s Day? As this celebration always falls on a Sunday (three weeks before Easter) it’s an opportunity to spend the day together and plan something meaningful and fun. We have collected some ideas on how to make your moments together even more special.
- A long, homemade breakfast with a nicely decorated table sounds like a great idea to us. Set the mood by lighting a candle.
- A wellness afternoon is also something you could do for Mother’s Day. Book a massage or simply do your nails together, and put on a face mask at home.
- Summon the witches: We love to clear out negative or stagnant energy by lighting a bunch of dried sage. Maybe you and your mum could do this ceremony together?
- Short on time? Send a message with a card and a special bar of chocolate or a pack of incense sticks.
Did you know? There is a spiritual backstory to Mother’s Day. During the 16th century, people in the UK returned on the 4th Sunday in Lent to their ‘mother church’ – the main church or cathedral of the area. This so-called Mothering Sunday inspired today’s Mother’s Day celebrations.
